For those that don't know Mos Def's new album, True Magic, will be released Sept. 26, Kweli's new album, Eardrum should hit the stores soon too, and DJ Hi-Tek said in an interview that "Black Star 2" and "Reflection Eternal 2" are both in the works, along with "Hi-Teknology 2", also, Kweli said that Mos Def "said he was doing a whole album with Madlib", so let's wait to see.

The Fugees reunited last year and they are working on a new album, but the 3 tracks that leaked were kinda... huumm.. garbage, but Canibus said in an interview that he had recorded 5 tracks with Clef for the new Fugees album, so again, we'll have to wait to see.

I'm too lazy to upload all those albums, most of them aren't too hard to find, if you can't find some of them say something and I'll hook you up.

Agree? Don't Agree? Something missing? Hit me up

Sometimes I Rhyme Slow

SOMETIMES I RHYME SLOW: A Remixtape by Dert

Hip hop meets acoustic as José González’s Veneer gets reworked and blended with verses from some of today’s most elite underground and mainstream emcees. Sometimes I Rhyme Slow is a updated take on fusing acoustic guitar samples with funk, soul and breakbeats. This ain't just another shitty mixtape, the remixes are really good.

1. Go + All You Deliver - Common
2. Get ‘Em High + Lovestain - Kanye West feat. Talib Kweli & Common
3. Good Mourning + Deadweight on Velveteen - Reflection Eternal
4. The Light + Heartbeats - Common feat. Erika Badu
5. Two Words + Slow Moves - Kanye West feat. Mos Def & Freeway
6. Dreams + Crosses - The Game
7. My Favorite Ladies + Remain - MF Doom
8. One Love + Stay in the Shade - Nas
9. The Greatest Show on Earth + Hints - Aceyalone

Die Rugged Die

R.A. The Rugged Man [2004] Die Rugged Die
I have been ignoring this album for some time and when I decided to listen to it I realized how wrong I was:
The original ugly dirty white boy who has been fucked by the industry for more than 10 years... R.A. The Rugged Man. His LP is full of intriguing tales about how he managed to get dropped from a handful of labels, drunken nights with coke sluts, and in general, how fucked up his life is and why he doesn't give a fuck. It's on some real dirt bag shit. And the best part about it is it's dope. His style is strange, kinda reminds me of Method Man, I guess this album isn't for everyone... but I liked it, maybe you do too.

"Lessons"
"Casanova (Fly Guy)"
"A Star Is Born"
"Chains" feat. Killah Priest and Masta Killa
"Dumb"
"On the Block"
"How Low"
"Mitch Blood Green (Interlude)"
"Midnight Thud"
"Black and White" feat. Timbo King
"Brawl"
"Die, Rugged Man, Die!!"
"Pick My Gun Up (Skit)"
"Da Girlz, They Luv Me"
"Make Luv Outro"

The Dusty Foot Philosopher

K'Naan [2005] The Dusty Foot Philosopher
I first heard of this somalian-canadian rapper, when I read he was on "Welcome to Jamrock" Tour with Damian Marley, and before I went to the show in Lisbon, I had to listen to this guy, and this album was hard to find on the web. K'Naan didn't appeared on the Damian Marley show, but this album is great, it's different, it got African rhythms mixed with rap beats, and K'Naan's lyrical hability is also much better than a lot of rappers from the U.S., just give it a listen, you won't regret it!

1. Wash It Down
2. Soobax
3. What's Hardcore?

2000 B.C.

Canibus [2000] 2000 B.C.
Some say that he's voice his horrible, they may be right, but Canibus is one of the greatest battle mc's/songwritters EVER, and the definition of Underrated.. It's a shame that he didn't released any Classic album with production at the same level than his lyrics (yet).... In my opinion this is his best album (followed by RIP the Jacker), here's an example of Bis lyrics:

"I destroy your whole city block when I'm ready to rock
blow your speaker box magnetically shielded or no
tmagnetic energies propagates in radio waves
oscillate lyrics and beats copulate to pop your tape
manipulating space in large proportions
millions of brain organs get lost when I start talkin
about shit like, supernatural forces
gnomes and fairies and superstring theories"

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=RIYV40YK

Big Daddy Kane feat. 2Pac, Notorious B.I.G., Scoob Lover & Shyhiem - Live Freestyle '95
A live freestyle from Legends like Kane, Pac and Biggie, and the young Shyhiem is incredible (even that he's verse is from his song "On and On")... they all kill it it (but I just can't like Scoob.. ), a fucking great show.
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=EBVPQG2S

Lauryn Hill, Nas, Pharoahe Monch, Prince Poetry, Ras Kass, Chino XL, Foxy Brown, Shyheim and Saafir - Wake Up Show Anthem '94
Another one from the famous Wake Up Show Anthems, the guest list speaks for itself, so there's no need for description.
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=EA93S07Q

Talib Kweli & Jean Grae - New York Shit
This a the beat from Busta's album, where he is trying to bring the crown back to new NY, the beat was sick, but Busta didn't use it very well.... But Talib Kweli & Jean Grae did! (Can't wait for their new albums from Blacksmith records).
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=CARTTJ4O

DJ Shadow feat. Mos Def - Six Days (Remix)
I Think that this track is from the new "Fast and Furious" movie, it's absolute FIRE!!!!

What's wrong with Rakim?

I think everyone is (or should be) excited with the fact that rakim is releasing his third solo album "The Seventh Seal" this summer, at least I am.

But lately I didn't like very much of what I've heard from Rakim Allah.

1. Some months ago he said this in an interview:

"Are you a Dipset fan?
No doubt. I like the Diplomats’ swagger, man. Juelz, Cam’ron, Jim Jones—they bring a lot of swagger back to the game. New York needs somebody right now to hold New York down.

So when will there be a Rakim/Diplomats collaboration?
Probably soon, man. They one of the cats in the game that I got a lot of respect for, music respect and street respect as well."

2. He made a cameo on Juelz Santana's video... that's wack.

3. Today, when I went to Rakim's page in wikipedia, I saw this on the collaborations section: "New York City" (Lloyd Banks featuring 50 Cent and Rakim) (Rotten Apple Bank's upcoming album)

So I checked on google and I found out that the track name and the 50 Cent featuring isn't confirmed yet... but Rakim is gonna be on Lloyd Banks album...

I never expected to see Rakim on a g-unit track..

So I'm a bit worried about "The Seventh Seal"...
It's good to have guestspots, but Rakim needs to chose well the artists that he's going to colaborate, and don't fill the album with tracks with Dipset, G-Unit, D4L, or any other wack artists.

Now, some good stuff about Rakim... check VegaTheTerrible for videos of the 6-10-6 show (shit, I just wish I was there...)

Agree? Don't Agree? Hit me up.

Mommy, What's A Gravedigga?

Gravediggaz [1994] 6 Feet Deep
One of my favorite Wu-Family albums, a group formed by Prince Paul, RZA, Poetic & Frukwan with dope guestspots and amazing horrorcore lyrics.. here's an example:

"Ive been examined ever since I was seamen
They took a sonogram and seen the image of a demon
At birth the nurses surrounded my with needles
And drugged me all up with the deseases of evil
Grew up in hell, now I dwell, in an islamic temple
Im fighting a holy war in the mental
Look deep into my eyes, youll see visions of death
Possessed by homicide is what Im obsessed
Giving niggaz brain dimples
Dragging they asses on my hook by they temples
The cause of death is unknown to the cops
Cause when I kill them, Im not leavin one element to autopse
First Ill assasinate emAnd them Ill cremate them
And take all of his fucking ashes and evaporate em"
