Dear Guru

I seriously think that you should stop working with your "superproducer" Solar (at least on the Jazzmatazz series) and work with real Jazz musicians like you did on Vol. 1, also, you should feature real Jazz singers instead of crap like Bobby Valentino.

Thank you for your time.

Poet Laureate Infinity

Have you lost your hope in Canibus? Well, after the horrible "Hip Hop For Sale" and his other horrible albums I also had... but today this came out:

It's the lastest track of his Poet Laureate series and it's one of the craziest things I've ever heard: You got 5 different vocal versions of the 11-minute song, all with completly different lyrics, but if you switch the vocals at any point of the song they will always rhyme. How cool is that?

And the song it's not even finished yet.

I wonder how will Canibus put a 55 minutes song on his album.
Thoughts about the song?

Starchild

O.C. [2005] Starchild
Yesterday I went to a store and I found this rare album that I would never expect to find in Portugal, because only 20,000 copies were shipped before it was shelved, I had the album on my computer since it was released but that's something you don't see in a store everyday, so I bought it.
Then I thought "How haven't I posted this yet on my blog?", because it's a great album, full of dope beats produced by Soul Supreme, DJ Static Selektah, Locsmif & Vanguard, and the usual dope rhymes O.C. delivers. It's a lot better than his previous LP's Bon Appetit and Smoke and Mirrors. Check the review.

Ok, as you should know (or not in case you've been living under a rock), one of the greatest mc's of all time, the mighty Pharoahe Monch is dropping his new album "Desire" in June (yeah, it got pushed back again), so I decided to post his COMPLETE discography, besides solo album and the Organized Konfusion ones, I got 74 tracks to post, but to complete his discography I'm missing 4 tracks, and maybe some of you could help me out. Here are the names:

- thanks to krisch for the info
Pharoahe Monch - Intervant
Muro - Lyrical Tyrants From Local To Global (New Government Remix) (feat. Lee Stone & Pharoahe Monch)

If any of you have them, I'd be really apreciated if you upload it for me. Thanks.
In related news, Polyrhythm Addicts are dropping a new album called Break Glass on April 24th on Babygrande. And here's the promo cds of their new song Reachin' featuring P-Monch that also includes It's My Life featuring Phonte.

Urban Species

Urban Species (1994) Listen

Urban Species are a London rap outfit on the UK acid-jazz label Talking Loud. One listen to the album and it's easy to see why; their mix of live instrumentation and samples owes more to the laid-back jazz-funk shuffle of UK bands like Galliano and the James Taylot Quartet than to hardcore US-rap exponents such as Public Enemy.
The music capitalizes nicely on its jazz-funk base to take in gentle forays into reggae , swingbeat, 90's soul, Latin percussion, utilizes acoustic guitar on the title-track and even rock-guitar and P.E. style squeals on "Gotta Have It".
If you like the jazz inspired rap album I usually post, then you cannot miss this one.

1. Hide and seek
2. Gotta have it

4. The ropes
5. Spiritual love
