Poet Laureate Infinity

Have you lost your hope in Canibus? Well, after the horrible "Hip Hop For Sale" and his other horrible albums I also had... but today this came out:

It's the lastest track of his Poet Laureate series and it's one of the craziest things I've ever heard: You got 5 different vocal versions of the 11-minute song, all with completly different lyrics, but if you switch the vocals at any point of the song they will always rhyme. How cool is that?

And the song it's not even finished yet.

I wonder how will Canibus put a 55 minutes song on his album.
Thoughts about the song?

Well, you can think about Canibus whatever you want but I like this idea. It's kinda creative and at least it's straight up lyricism! So we'll wait and see what he's about to give us on the album... Peace out

You obviously haven't heard Rip The Jacker. It is a classic album and this next album will be great, especially if he gets Poet Laureate Infinity finished (say that 5 times fast).

Wow wow wow.... I didn't say ALL Canibus albums were bad, Rip The Jacker is def a great album, aswell as 2000 B.C., but his most recent stuff is trash.

But after hearing this song I got all hyped for this next album

Rip The Jacker is one of the best battle rap albums. The lyrcism is ridiculous on the album, as well as the strong production.

I can't get it to work properly in IE6 or Firefox - the page loads and the spectrum analyser and time go and I can move the faders about but there's no sound. Any ideas?

i have the same problem

Same here, but at least some creativity in Hip Hop.

Never was a big Canibus fan, but this sounds promising.

I have the same problem "ross" has... Any sugestions to make it work?

They're obviously mucking about trying to fix it; I tried it this morning and all the vocals start to work after about 20 seconds but there are no instrumental tracks (you may have to press Play, then Stop, then Play again).

Also, it doesn't work properly in Firefox as it lets you play all the vocal tracks at the same time.

Trying it in IE, it only lets you play one vocal track but the faders cancel each other out, as expected.

I heard some on this blog. I also heard it on another blog. It was like 5 different segments of straight spitting. The other blog had the vocals and the beat seperately so I misunderstood. I thought the album was consisting of his lyrics or something. I liked what I heard I have repeated this several times but I hope this guy has some descent production on this one meaning some DJ Premier, Pete rock,MF Doom you know what I'm talking about he needs a big underground boom and fast he is hands down one of the greatest lyricist ever however the last couple albums don't tell that story.Rip the Jacker was what 3 or 4 years ago a bit of inconsistency don't you think? This is my main man but If this album don't make the grade I'm done!!! I have been his #1 defense over the f*** up albums and all so Bis gotta give us something!!

Completly agree with Olskool4real, Bis is one of the best, but most of his albums aren't..

This tracks should have been produced by Primo, but I don't know what happened to that (because this sure ain't no primo beat), maybe he'll do the album version.

Production has always been Bis problem.

And sometimes the site doesn't work :/

can he bust? yes he can, of course rip the jacker is great, and can-i-bus was a classic, but canibus said wyclef was too involved in it and it didn't go how he wanted it to, i can't imagine how good it woulda been had wyclef laid off, and 2000 b.c. was my personal favorite, especially the tazer skit, that shit had me busting up and playing it over the intercom at work

You can't forget to give him cred on the collaboration with Phoenix Orion. The Cloak N Dagga album which is also absolutely heat.

Rip the jacker was fire, I liked the Poet L. on that it was consistent but this other joint although its technical, its sooo boring.

I’ll never understand why people are so insistent about bringing Bis under a microscope. The man has been blessed with a talent incomparable to any other and yet somehow that is not good enough. (I’d like to see you, the peanut gallery, do better…) He is a genius and has worked damn hard to create recognition of what he loves most, his work, IN THE NAME OF TRUE HIP-HOP. Bis has paved the way for many battle MC’s and is a valuable architect of lyricism and should be treated as such.
